Government of Canada Reestablishes Market Access for Beef and Veal to South Korea

The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of International Trade, today announced that South Korea has lifted its temporary ban on imports of beef and veal from Canada, effective December 30, 2015. Imports of Canadian beef and veal were temporarily suspended in response to the February 2015 detection of an isolated case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in Canada.

The Salon exhibition style was established in 1667 in France by the Academie des Beaux-Arts and held in the Louvre. To accommodate the vast quantity of work submitted by students of the Academie, artworks were displayed from floor to ceiling with little space separating frames. This style has since been incorporated throughout history in museums and galleries, including the Art Gallery of Ontario's display of its European collection.

Governments' Investment Will Increase Production and Reduce Waste at Potato Processing Facility

Experience the Yuletide customs of Old England — dance by the fire to live music, enjoy a delicious historical supper, wassail and other seasonal treats, play traditional games, sing an old carol or two, and tour the historic Inn by candlelight, in all its festive decorations. Winter storm Alert of southern Ontario: Monday night into Tuesday morning

A low from Texas will spread snow, ice pellets, and blowing snow into the regions Monday evening. Snow and ice pellet amounts of 10 to 15 cms are expected before precipitation changes to freezing rain before morning. Freezing rain will quickly change to rain or drizzle near Lake Ontario near the morning rush hour Tuesday, but could persist well into the day further north.

Strong easterly winds gusting to 70 km/h are expected Monday evening and Monday night with gusts to 80 km/h possible near Lake Ontario.

Travel conditions will rapidly deteriorate Monday evening as visibilities drop to near zero and roads become covered in snow or ice pellets. Conditions will begin to improve Tuesday.
